Winter Warmers

I can’t believe last time I posted it was January and in the peak of summer. I was deciding which bikini to buy next and now all you see in my search engine is knitwear, jackets and coats (preferably wearing them all the same time). So on this toasty Sydney night, I’ve composed my coat wish list.

White Shorts

In my opinion, there is nothing quite like wearing white shorts in summer.

My favourite would have to be these Sass and bide ones. They are the perfect mix between relaxed and tailored. Paired with this Zimmermann bodice, Alexander Wang strappy sandals and a pale pink lip and you are ready for any summer event. Image

Quick Dip

Part of my Sunday routine is to spend some time catching up on what has happened in the world of fashion this week aka vogue.com.au. What caught my eye this morning was the new we are handsome campaign. The colours, the sun, the beach has got me thinking what i’m going to wear at the beach this Christmas break.

I’m really loving the influence of Neoprene and other thicker fabrics this season. Lisa Marie Fernandez has been nailing this for seasons but some new goodies that have catch my eye come from triangl swimwear and N.L.P.

Another thing I’m loving are the high briefs. Really I love anything that makes legs look longer. Seafolly as always have some great ones teamed up with beautiful prints and cute tops.

If your not much of a swimmer like me (irrational fear of sharks- don’t judge) a bright lip will be sure to have you stand out on the sand.

Gosh, I love summer.

Drop. it. Down

My favourite silhouette that is trending right now would have to be the drop waist. This shape, initially from the 1920’s just makes you feel so much taller and leaner wearing it (as long as you have some good spanks on).

Image

We are seeing this waist line all over our favourite shopping destinations and the moment (net-a-porter, matches fashion, asos and shop bop). I can’t wait until this trend hits the streets hard and we the Alexa Chung’s and the Olivia Palermo’s rocking them.

Here is my edit.

BURBERRY PRORSUM MENSWEAR S/S’14

Some serious love going on for the Burberry Prorsum menswear Spring Summer 2014 line that just streamed live (11pm for all us Sydney siders). The simplicity on the runway in the beautiful Kensington gardens was a beautiful back drop for all the lovely colour ways to follow.

I loved the contrast of the Olive and charcoal pants against the surprisingly strong colour palette throughout the ties, bags and coats and  true to form the craftsmanship and structure of the coats could easily be worn on a sunday lunch, or light summer shower (even the baby pink).

The youthfulness carried throughout the show (literally carried) in the duffle pouches was a different touch and the fluro sunnies is something I can hear my other half asking for (although I don’t know how I’ll feel walking onto a beach with him wearing them in Sydney).

Resort 2014

I’ve known the resort 2014 gallery has been up for a while and I have been staying away from it knowing full well I would spend  ages musing over the collections and the designers (not a good way to spend my limited time during exam block). Well as of today I am uni-free (for a little while at least) and true to form I have spent just over 2 hours enjoying my glimpse into what I want my wardrobe to be like.

Here are my favourites.

winter

Even though your work patterns don’t change or your work and study in my case, as the temperature falls I always feel like my energy levels fall dramatically. Merely getting out of bed itself is an achievement for me.

The first day of winter is always really exciting for me. I think of all the coats and layers I’ll get to wear and the cute little boots, and warm scarfs forgetting that epic hurdle of getting out of bed in enough time to get to work on time, let alone plan an outfit.

So here’s to winter. You evil beast. I love you. Secretly

Future of NOW

From a brand that I have loved so dearly for doing bring orange in everything, magenta in ways I had never thought to wear magenta and the comfiest tees I have ever had EVER! Comes the FUTURE OF NOW. It has been coming slowly I feel, with the tailoring and the beautiful beadwork that has been sneaking its way in, but to me, the future of now seems so grown up, so beautiful just YES.

Sass and Bide were the start of my love of labels and it has just kept growing. They are amazing with tees, denim, relaxed styling, soft tailoring and now watch them absolutely master monochrome. This could very soon make up the majority of my work wardrobe.

Here are my favourites of this collection (it is basically the whole collection). Enjoy
